IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING APPLICATION OR RENEWAL OF SHORT-TERM RENTALS
Requirements to apply for a short-term rental in Fannin County
To avoid a delay, do not send application packet until you have completed your closing and secured your warranty deed.
Step 1: Fill out in its entirety the application packet for short-term rental
Step2: Email the application with a copy of your warranty deed as a PDF attachment to the email address indicated on the last page of the application
Step 3: An account will be set up for you and step-by-step instructions on how to access your account on the portal will be emailed to you at the email address provided.
Step 4: Once you have accessed your account you will purchase the required annual lodging certificate (good for the current calendar year)
Important note: If you are planning to utilize a marketplace facilitator such as Airbnb or VRBO and are contracting them to pay the monthly taxes to Fannin County, remember it’s the owner’s responsibility to enter the tax reporting amounts monthly (due by the 20th of each month for the previous month’s rentals).

PUBLIC NOTICE
The Fannin County Board of Commissioners will consider revisions to the “Ordinance of Fannin County, a Political Subdivision of the State of Georgia as to “Short Term Vacation Rental Ordinance” and hear public comments as to the same at a public meeting held for such purposes on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 and again on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025.
The meetings will occur at the Fannin County Courthouse, 400 W. Main Street, Blue Ridge, Georgia, third floor, Jury Assembly Room at 5:00 p.m.
It is anticipated that a final vote on the ordinance will occur on August 26th, 2025 at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Fannin County Board of Commissioners.
A copy of the proposed ordinance will be posted at the Fannin County website at

The same will incorporate the existing noise ordinance and will include a light ordinance to provide for “dark hours”.
